Sterling votes for Republicans, Rutledge votes for Democrats
According to Pulaski County Clerk records, Attorney General candidate Leslie Rutledge has voted in five Democrat primaries, yet she never voted in a regular Arkansas Republican primary election prior to this year. Rutledge did not even vote in the 2010 and 2012 primaries in Arkansas.
Records filed with the Arkansas Secretary of State also show Rutledge made a financial contribution to the Democrat Party of Arkansas just seven years ago.
“It’s disturbing that a candidate who seeks the Republican nomination for Attorney General has a record of voting for Democrats and contributing to the Democrat Party,” remarked Republican Attorney General candidate David Sterling.
“Arkansas Republicans want an Attorney General who will stand up to the Obama/Pelosi Democrats in Washington and fight for our Arkansas values. One has to wonder how someone who votes for Democrats and contributes to the Democrat Party will fight the liberals who want to continue growing the federal government. I am the only candidate for AG with a 100% Republican Primary voting record, and I have never donated to the Democrat Party. As Attorney General, I will fight to rein in Washington while protecting our Arkansas values” Sterling said.
Early Voting in the Republican runoff for Attorney General begins this Tuesday, June 3. Election Day is June 10.
