Sterling responds to outrageous remarks from Attorney General Holder
Republican Attorney General candidate David Sterling today reacted to disturbing comments from U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Speaking to a group of state attorneys general yesterday, Holder said they were not obligated to enforce laws banning gay marriage in their states.
“The elected Attorney General of a state is bound by an oath to uphold and defend all the laws of his state,” noted Sterling. “I’m appalled that the chief law enforcement officer of the U.S. government would tell top state law enforcement officials to ignore laws they may not agree with. As Arkansas’ Attorney General, I will defend all of the laws of our state. Unlike General Holder, I won’t pick and choose which laws to uphold,” remarked Sterling.
